My God Is Mighty

I thank God...

...that I have leaders who teach me with their own life experiences and who are here for me when I need them the most. (:
The whole time today, I kept recalling how Dominic handled his own incident at home and the faith he had throughout.
Lynette and Jieru were constantly messaging me, asking if I was okay, if my mother was okay...

I thank God...

...that I am in the Heart of God family. Only in this church will you have everyone smsing you five minutes after you've told your leader about what has happened. I have brothers and sisters who rock my life!

I thank God...

...that Jesus is in my life. My God is mighty, He is able, He is sufficient. He can move the mountains, heal the sick...everything and anything. And He can also do the simplest smallest things like walking with you through your valleys.

My God is mighty.
My God is mighty.
My God is mighty.

The doctors don't have the last say. Jesus does.

My leaders

I've the best leaders in life! Without them, you'll never know the Lisa you know today. Haha. And trust me, you wouldn't want to know the Lisa before she came to HoGC. (:

Gonna post some photos of my awesome/handsome/beautiful/cool leaders when I get home!

(:

YNWA!

Oh what a night! After a great service with Pastor How, great hangout with churchies…the Reds ended the day with a 2-0 win over our biggest rivals – Manchester United.
It would have been better if we could have had our 7th episode of Supernatural Season 5 too…but the victory was good enough (:

What a game…so many thoughts, so many smiles…haha…but with all due respect, Manchester United put up a good game. We don’t like you much, but we gotta admit, our hearts stop beating the most when we play a game against you.
We fought the good fight, and we won this game. Not as glamourous as our 4-1 triumph last season, but something was more special tonight. Maybe it was the fact that this was Owen first game against Liverpool in his Man. U jersey.
But I’ll rant more about him later.

Could we win? Maybe not. We hoped for a draw at the very most. And that dearest Lucas won’t mess up.
It was a doomed-gone game before we even started. Gerrard was definitely not in the starting eleven…Torres’ and Johnson’s conditions were tricky…but knowing our #09, he’ll never pass an opportunity against our biggest rival. Last season, he played with a swollen ankle, endless painkiller injections, and he even scored a goal.
Definitely God’s gift to Liverpool.
Definitely one of Rafa’s best buy, if not the best.
Definitely the blessing of KOPites all over the world.

But I digress.

Something was different in the atmosphere that night. That factor which makes Liverpool the people’s club. The factor which makes KOPites so special. The factor that bonds the team and the KOPites.
Even if we were going down for our fifth loss, we’ll go down together.
No blames, no pointing fingers, just our arms around one another and the belief that as long as we walked together, we can walk through any rain, any storm.
As the game commenced…oh, how our eleven men fought and attacked. A stark difference from our previous games.
Maybe…just maybe…lets start with a goal…just one…like in 2005…
Torres answered our prayers, as he usually does. Ngog substituted him in the remaining ten minutes, and proved the critics wrong when he gave us our 2nd goal in extra time.

Mock all you want.

“Liverpool’s fifth loss tonight?” –certain Man. U fan
*Shrugs*

Some Man. U fans will never get it, will they? Yeah sure, achievements are important, but true love goes beyond achievements. True love and passion continues despite the lack of achievements. True love walks with, celebrates with, cries with, disappoints with.
God loves us despite our flaws, despite our lack of achievements at times. Yeah He wants us to do well in life for our benefit, but in certain seasons, even if we fall, He’s still here.

So yeah…Liverpool hasn’t won the PL trophy for 19 years…we might not win it again this year, but we’ll wait together. We’ll walk through the year together, through defeats together, through the agonizing wait together.
19 years…20 years…21 years…22 years…we’ll wait till we get it.

YNWA.
We’ll walk through the mountains.
We’ll walk through the valleys.
Love takes all or nothing.
We’ll take all of Liverpool – the loss and the victories.

This is the club I love.
This is why I love the club I love.
The team is about the KOPites. The KOPites is about the team.
When they need us, we’re here. When we need them, they’re here.

And as I promised…*sigh*
Owen, Owen, Owen.
The first cut came when you went to Manchester United.
But you dug it deeper when you talked the way you did before tonight’s game.
It’s not just about the jersey anymore. It’s about how you didn’t hesitate when you said that you will celebrate just as per normal if you score a goal in Anfield, in front of the KOPites. We mean nothing to you, don’t we?
No matter who did what to you when you left, I believe the KOPites were faithful to you all the days you spent in Liverpool. We would have loved to cheer for you, just like how we would cheer for Fowler and all the great KOP legends, but…:/
You fell from Heaven to hell, mate.

Oh well. We have Torres now. And one thing we know for sure, if he did leave Liverpool one day, he’ll return like how Fowler returned to us. He’ll be like how Shankly, Dalglish and Fowler were to us.

Onto the next game! (: Walking on…walking on…

Photos Galore!

Haha. I talked to Johanna and she asked if I have nothing to update.

Actually.
I have a lot of thoughts swimming in my mind, but when I get to Blogspot, I become too lazy to put them into words. Hahaha.

BUT!
A picture says a thousand words...so...here you go! Haha!
Some of my favourite photos...from all over the place =P

Not in any particular order!!

Haha! Love this one! They look really natural here! Kinda like the photos we take after service (:

Need I explain more why I love this photo? (:

Looks super cool. Looks like something you can take out of your wallet 50 years later and share with your grandchildren. "This is Ah Gong and his good friend, Uncle Kim." Haha.

Yunho looks genuinely happy here. Haha no pressure, no facade...just him and his best friend (:

My way is all in His hands (:

If you want to see how God look like when He sees you, I believe it will be something like this ^_^

The day our Number 9 tore the Chel$kis apart. Our time will come. I'll wait 19, 20, 21,22...50...until we get the trophy in our hands again. (: YNWA

Without doubt, my favourite coffee place. When I have the 둥of course (:

Hahaha! I had a great kick out of this. We had the first ever longest photo comment conversation/discussion/argument. If you don't know, Dexter's head was photoshopped over Noel's.

My favourite eggcurd from Chomp Chomp!

Nothing says Band of Brothers like this. Haha. I'll take another shot like this 50 years later. There will probably be a lot of grandchildren running around and more walking sticks, but...oh well (:

I'll do more photo-posts soon! Haha. You'll probably see a lot of black-white photos. Not that I'm emo-ing. I really love the way black-white photos turn out. Super nice!
So now, maam! You've an insight into what and who goes through my mind each day. Haha =D

The Right Relationships in Life...

...brings you higher! -SP How and SP Lia (:

I've not bathed....I've just finished my dinner after 2 hours of playing around with it, and I'm here! Haha 'cause I really really really want to blog about this! Most of my friends are using tumblr.com but I'm a faithful person. I'll stick to Blogger. (:

Just had the most awesome talk with Sam Teo and Evonne! It's been some time since I've been in a long phone conversation like this but I'm lovin' it! Haha! Was just so inspired hearing Evonne share about her thoughts, her experiences etc...I totally agree with Jamie that whoever marries Evonne is one lucky man! (: We were talking about our Pastors and Lynette, and how fortunate we are to have the best leaders leading and guiding us! Their love for us is not only shown through their words and actions, but even in their thoughts toward us! Everything that they do and say are always for our own benefit and for growing us... Man! I've got to learn to open up more and connect to my leaders...haha (:

Anyhow, I'm so glad God brought Evonne into Heart of God Church and into D Zone! She's someone whom I consider one of my best friends in church...hahaha I just sent her an sms telling her that we'll grow church and grow old with our hubbies together!

Yeah (: That is what it means to do life together! I used to watch "Friends" and I remember wanting to belong to such a group...I used to have two ex best friends in secondary school and we spoke about living together and having our own house...we even wrote fiction stories about us living together...but I'm really living it out now man (: Evonne, Sam Teo and I live in the same spiritual house, belong to the same spiritual family...our dreams and visions may differ, but it's all for the same cause. We go through hard times together, then laugh about it a few months later...we dream of our own ideal guy, but we know that whoever we marry at the end, our families are going to turn out great and we'll serve in the same House together...we go through life like any other person out there in the world, but we're living it with a greater passion and expectation!

I love my churchies. I really, really do (:

We really need the right relationships in our lives. They not only bring us up higher, some even help you to get awesome looking clothes at a cheaper price so that you look good on a big day (@Xinjie) (:

2 more weeks till Pastor Kong arrives in Heart of God Church! Can't wait! (:

Bap!

Haha I'd better blog before my ma'am takes back my bap :P

Service last weekend was off the roof man! Pastor Lia preached a very very powerful Word about the next generation and about Zone F being the fastest growing zone! It's gonna be easy man! Zone F's gonna explode before 2009 ends, I tell ya (: Can't wait!

Then we had Pastor Jamaal and his team for main services...they led us in praise and worship and boy! It was as though we all went up to heaven and came back! Haha...they really brought the soul into our church! If you weren't there, you've got to be there the next time they come and experience it for yourself! They took two songs which we were very familiar with ("The God I Know"and "Take It All") and completely transformed it man! Especially for "Take It All"! Haha...everyone was rocking like a metal rock singer at the end of service on Sunday...and Leon Kwek and I were still doing it during basketball outing on Monday. Lol.

They taught us a new song too...and it's the latest search hit! Israel Houghton's "I Will Search"...super powerful...here it is:

Not much visual entertainment, but just turn off your screen and listen to the song. (:

Yesterday's bball game was madness. We played from 7+ till 10+PM. Hah. There were so many people there, and it didn't feel like a Monday at all. Leon was making everyone laugh (and exasperated) with his nonsense...and playing with Yao Hui was super funny man! Noboday wanted to hold on to the basketball when you have a Yao Hui charging towards you. XD Can't wait for next week's basketball game man! Same place at Khatib! Hoho (:

Gotta go now! Meeting in church!! Woohoo! (: (: A time of change, growth and pruning!

Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibition

Today was a good day! Managed to get a few things done! Was late for my meeting with Christian though (>.<")...I WILL NOT BE LATE FOR A MEETING AGAIN.

Yes. I've declared it so I've got to be a man woman of my word. Haha.

Had a confusing Spanish lesson. Totally didn't understand what the tutor was talking about...imperativo...sustantivo...I really need to revise and brush up on my Spanish man!

Rushed to meet the gang for the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibition after that and it was really awesome! I really want to meet William Tyndale when I go to Heaven and thank him for taking the effort to translate the Bible into English. Without him, I'd probably be lugging a 15kg Bible to church every weekend. Hahaha...and struggling to understand Latin/German.

I'm living a cool life. Haha even cooler than Yunho's and Xiah's! Off to revise my Korean for tomorrow's quiz! G'night!

(:
